Minister Nguyễn Quân met with new Ambassadors and Consulates General

On April 10, 2013, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Quân met with 20 ambassadors and consulates general newly appointed by the President.

On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s leaders (MOST), Minister Nguyễn Quân congratulated Ambassadors and Consulates General who are trusted and assigned with Vietnam’s representation in foreign countries.

In the meeting, the Minister has had a brief report on the country’s Sat activities and demands of S&T development when Vietnam enters into the international integration. The Minister emphasized that the Party and State has affirmed S&T is the leading national policy, Ministries and branches have also highly appreciated roles of S&T. S&T development has not only increased the added value of products but also brought in very high labor productivity. S&T development is the indispensable way for all nations and lessons of not only developed countries but also newly developed and industrialized countries.

Minister Nguyễn Quân hoped that “For the coming time you should try your best to pay attention to S&T and support us to have full information of S&T development status of each country as well as establish cooperative relations in scientific research and training for scientists in countries you are in charge of.”

Mr. Tô Anh Dũng, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Canada, on behalf of newly appointed Ambassadors and Consulates General, expressed his sincere thanks to Minister Nguyễn Quân for spending his time to meet, at the same time affirmed that they would continue paying their attentions and closely coordinating with functional agencies under MOST, contributing to promote the country’s S&T.
